To
LBO,
I
don't understand you people. You can't justify what is wrong in
God's eyes!
It
is not normal, natural or moral!
Terri
Cella
Miss
Cella,
We
humbly respect your opinion. But I have to ask you, did God
come down and make YOU a judge for morality? And for that
matter, why do you and many like you, not have the same passion
and organization against adulterers? Who are you to say how
two loving compassionate people can love and live their lives?
To
us, our lifestyles are very
normal, natural and moral. What
is not normal, natural and moral is to live untruthful
lives. To be hidden in closets and to fight
our natural feelings of LOVE and pretend to ignore how God made
us, is not natural. Just like any straight couple, sex may be a
natural part of our relationships, but it is all about natural feelings
of love for most of us.
You
simply must understand that what may be natural to you, does not
mean that it must be natural for everyone. We are not all
alike and God made us all. To us at LBO it is much more immoral
to judge and condemn in God's name.

Please
get some better proofreaders. The apostrophe is running amok all
over your site. Also, in your ENTERTAINMENT section, I was appalled
to find the statement re: sapphic comedy (also misspelled) about
how wonderful that Ellen's coming out opened doors for dyke comedians.
PLEASE!! Ellen was finally able to come out (after she made her
millions, of course), due to the trailblazing, talented, and oh-so-brave
Robin Tylers, Kate Clintons, Suzanne Westenhoefers, Marga Gomezs,
Lea Delarias, and more. Ellen should take no credit for creating
lesbian comedy history. She should be paying homage to the pioneers
and paying back those who dared to be honest about who they were
while risking the big time. These comics hit the road, playing sometimes
friendly, sometimes not-so-friendly towns, educating the ignorant,
making people laugh, and helping communities understand that being
gay was not only OK, but funny too.
And
the same goes for Rosie. It'e very easy to come out in entertainment
after you've built your bank.
Both
Rosie and Ellen owe US... big time.

Dear
Miss Eastwood,
Thank
you very much for your feedback, we appreciate it all, good bad
and ugly. We are very much so a small website with volunteer writers,
none of us get paid and we are not a for profit site. When we set
up LBO, one of the primary goals along with entertainment and information
was to NOT be anal. Period. That was one of the reasons we started
LBO. Can we improve? Absolutely! However our message is not how
brilliant we are, what great spellers we are and hopefully our errors
will be taken lightly.
If
you look on our front page, Robin Tyler is our featured woman. We
adore Robin Tyler for not only being a pioneer in lesbian entertainment
but for all that she stands for. We have reviewed Suzanne Westenhoefer
and will be reviewing Michelle Balan, Popply Champlin, Margaret
Cho and Vicky Shaw next month!
As
for Ellen Degeneres and Rosie O'Donnell, they are celebrity lesbian
icons which our readers adore and want to read about. While of course
there have been many great women whom have paved the way even for
them, there were no well known lesbian celebrities in mainstream
media up until then and by being in mainstream media they have set
new standards. While you may have been there, no one knew you.
Now,
if you would like, we would love your feedback on lesbian comedians
whom have paved the way for the Rosie's and Ellen's to be so successful
in mainstream media. Please.... if you have a message that you would
like to get out, submit an article for us to consider as well as
your own media kit.
Thank
you again for your feedback.

Regarding
Dinah Shore
Dear
LBO,
I
guess my issues is how the woman of our community rip off the community
and try
to act like they are doing so much to make the surroundings a space
of our
own so we can be who we are? Yeah right? It is all about money.
The woman that run these events are totally ripping the community
off and what I don't understand is how we can continue to support
what they are doing because we want a space for ourselves. We can
have the space and have events without the women
that are running this to get rich on.
My
question to them is this? Why is it they need to charge $50.00 a
person to get into a dance, $25.00 into a pool party, and on and
on? What are the charges they are getting charged? Why don't they
show what it cost to have a event like this? In my experience when
you bring that many people and can sell out a hotel, restaurants.
and sell as much liquor as they sell and charge 7.00 for a beer!
Hard to believe the ladies running this are making nothing but profit.
I have a hard time believing the hotel is going to charge anything
knowing they are going to make more money then they can make on
any weekend, all profit for the hotel, and who knows how much the
ladies make. Don't get me wrong, they need to make money for putting
the event together, but how much is enough, and what do they give
back to the community for all the money they make?
The
sad thing to me is that the woman complain, complain and complain,
why don't they all boycott this or stop complaining so they will
stop ripping us all off. Instead they keep going and paying the
money. This year I only went to the pool party and refuse to pay
any of the other prices. After I was in the pool party, I thought
to myself what is she giving here, nothing again. I have told myself
this is the last time I will support this or give these women who
are not doing this to create a space for all of us to come together,
but to get rich off us and use all of us. For me, this is the last
time she has used me. I heard so many woman complain, but do nothing.
Thanks
for your interest
Patty
Patty,
We
hear you! We receive a lot of complaints similar to this. We cannot
quite figure out why it is happening but perhaps the powers that
be will read these posts and do something about it!
We
will keep in touch,

Hi:
I
could sure use the guidance of your traveling staff. My wonderful
partner is a single mom who has never traveled outside of the state
of Texas. I, on the other hand, have traveled internationally but,
never to the upper East Coast states. My fabulous partner wants
to take her very first traveling adventure to Vermont this fall
during "leaf peeping" season. We also want to have a civil
union ceremony during the trip. I envision a Wednesday through Sunday
trip. Get "civil unioned" on Friday. Enjoy the scenery
via picnics, daytrips, etc.
Given
this will be her first major trip, I want to spoil her and provide
her with great accommodations. I'm thinking a great room, king bed,
Jacuzzi/garden tub, nestled in the midst of great scenery.
Can
you suggest a particular place. We'll need to "rustle up"
some witnesses for the ceremony but, I don't anticipate that being
a problem. I will want to order a small wedding cake, champagne
for the room, etc. I'm bringing a digital camera but, will want
some help with a few wedding day pictures.
I
am thinking a small/medium inn attentive to details. Price is not
an issue.
Can
you assist?

Hi
Lori,
Congratulations!
I had to reply to this right away because this is so easy!
There
is a great lesbian retreat in New Hampshire called The Highlands
Inn.
http://www.lezbeout.com/newhampshire_000.htm. They specialize in
romantic lesbian getaways in the area and specialize in commitment
ceremonies. They are only 20 minutes from Vermont.
The
owner's name is Grace and if you call her and tell her what is going
on AND that you heard about them from LezBeOut.com (they may give
you a discounted rate... some of our advertised resorts are known
to do that) she should be more than happy to help you. They are
experts in these things.
Would
you do us a great favor? And let us know how your experience went.
We would love to hear about your adventure and your experience with
Highlands Inn.
Good
luck....
Dear
LBO,
God
made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve or Rosie and whoever. I am
so sorry that you will spend eternity in hell. Because that is exactly
where you are going. Shock TV never did interest me or most Americans.
Phylis
Still,
Dear
Phylis,
Did
God come down and give you a badge allowing you to judge in his
name? When did you get permission to commit that sin?
My relationship as any other LBO Members relationship with God is
simply between God and myself and is none of your business. I am
sorry that you feel threatened by loving relationships that are
too outside your simple minded way of thinking.
We
truly hope the best for you and hold no grudges against your opinions.
LBO
Hi--
I would love to do an article for you on my experience with online
lesbian dating. LezBeOut is where I met my love and partner. It
was the online dating site I went on to meet women when I finally
figured out, at age 46, that I am a lesbian and always have been.
I was married, had children and had always lived as a straight woman.
I never even kissed another woman until I got my nerve up after
being divorced for four years and went on LezBeOut.
LezBeOut is a great site. I'm so grateful I found it; it truly helped
me find myself (trite as that sounds) and become the great lesbian
I've always been.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.
