One
of our best picks!…….. Michelle Balan.
Oh,
how lesbian comedians have made our LBO road trips to various
events much more bearable. The long monotonous drives are
now a thing of the past, and our favorite tradition of the
staff has quickly become our road trip review of the latest
lesbian comedy albums. It is rare treat when the album is
so good that we listen to it twice and still laugh the second
time around, which we are pleased to say, Michelle Balan’s
"NEUROTIC BY NATURE” Certainly does..
Lesbian
comedians often seem to fall into two categories, New Yorkers
or Loud Mouths. At first you may ask yourself, “How many New
York lesbian comedians do we really need?” Hasn’t that already
been done, over and over? Well it doesn’t take long to figure
out which category, Michelle Balan falls into. But labels
aside (I know we all hate labels) luckily Michelle totally
got us past that point, she is truly a talent and you quickly
get past the label and into the laughing.
Miss
Balan brings up some of the funniest situations that most
lesbians can completely relate to and better yet, you will
find yourself repeating some of her lines with your friends.
Our favorite jokes on Miss Balans, “Neurotic By Nature” CD
were The Wonder Bra and Old
& Neurotic.
We
have learned over the years that as far as lesbian comedians
go, the diamonds in the rough are those that are less main
stream. I will take Poppy Champlin and Michelle Balan any
day over some of the more popular well known talent.
