PRODUCING ADULTS

Best foreign lesbian film ever!

While not completely flawless, "Producing Adults" does pull it together in the end and is easily the best lesbian foreign film ever.

Let's get the critisisms out of the way.  First, it is somewhat of a slow starter and in a foreign film that can be a killer.  After the first half hour you will find yourself wondering, is this really a lesbian flick?  And then secondly some of the dialogue between the characters is somewhat off.  For instance during one particlar angstful scene with when the main character, Venla decides it is time to go home, her new friend Satu's response is something to the affect of "Wait, shouldn't I rub your clit for a few hours before you go?, just kidding".  While I don't mind the line, it just seemed misplaced in this touching scene.

Now, all that being said, the storyline once it gets started comes along nicely.  It is a true love story between two women who find themselves falling in love, despite their pesky interfering boyfriends. The reason I loved this film, other than the fact that the two main characters are really lovable, is that to me, it was so very realistic. It dealt with issue's such as pregnancy, family and responsibilty, yet at the same time brought the ending home with being true to yourself.  I found the movie delightful and fulfilling.

The movie is available and being released by our favorite, Wolfe Video in July 2005.
