New
Hampshire is the heart of New England. Bordering Massachusetts,
Vermont and Maine, New Hampshire is simply the geographic
center of the region, it offers everything that New England
is famed for: mountains, a seacoast, lakes, heritage and
history, crafts and culture and fine food and lodging.
In New Hampshire hikers and cyclists can explore the rugged
trails of the White Mountains, climbing to extraordinary
views (there are 86 peaks in the Presidential Range alone).
Each fall visitors come to photograph and walk among the
brilliantly colored leaves. In winter, skiing reins supreme
along with snowmobiling, sledding, tubing, and a sleigh
ride to a country inn.
Cozy country inns and B&Bs are only part of the New
Hampshire charm. The state has four Grand Hotels, each with
its own traditions and magnificent setting. A variety of
cuisine can be enjoyed throughout the state, from fresh
seafood to French-Canadian to “down-home” New England fare.
New Hampshire celebrates its history in interesting ways:
from tiny local museums to vast historic areas such as the
nationally-acclaimed Strawberry Banke in the seacoast city
of Portsmouth. Life’s simple pleasures aren’t the exclusive
property of a past era; they thrive in New Hampshire today.
