The
Warwick Hotel
San
Francisco

In
the beautiful City of San Francisco, it is truly hit or
miss as far as hotels go. We have stayed in many and
often we leave less than satisfied. The hotels are often
expensive, often the neighborhoods are poor, the parking
is expensive and you just do not feel that you get much
of a bang for your buck. The Warwick is an exception to
that rule.
The
Warwick was built in the late 1800's and when you walk through
ther doors you feel as if you have stepped back in time.
The architecture is very similar to what it might have looked
back in 1890's with the exception of modern day amenities.
The Hotel was recently redecorated and the decorators spared
no expense. Throughout the Hotel every room is elegantly
designed in imported antiques from France. Each room
has french canopy beds or headboards with french silks.
In the lounge area is an exquisite painting by the currator
of The Louvre, which the owner of Warwick discovered in
a barn in France and brought t this remarkable Hotel.
La
Scene the Hotels restaurant simply has world class gourmet
dining. Try one of the scallops or dundeoness crab
dishes and you will surely be pleased.
The
Hotel is very reasonably priced for the area which is surprising
considering its elegance and the location cannot be beat
if you are staying in San Francisco. Next door is a drug
store and within a few feet there is a Starbucks!
Up two blocks and you will find yourself at Powell where
you can quickly catch a Cable Car trolley to Fishermans
Wharf or China Town.
We
quicklybecame fans of this hotel which is easily a four
star establishment and I am sure we will be staying there
again and again!
